Dr. Marc Parsons is a biostatistician interested in clinical trial design and meta-analysis. He was awarded a PhD from McGill University in 2026 for his thesis concerning the meta-analysis of trajectories in data subject to irregular outcome assessments between included studies. Marc has also obtained degrees in statistics (BSc), epidemiology (MSc), and health policy (MSc). His professional background includes roles as an infectious disease epidemiologist and data analyst. Marc is based in the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in Montréal. He is a member of the CTN+ Methods Think Tank.
During his time as a CTN+ postdoctoral fellow, Marc will work under the supervision of Profs. Guillaume Fontaine (McGill), Shirin Golchi (McGill), and Lawrence Mbuagbaw (McMaster) to improve methods and provide guidance for studies employing complex study designs such as hybrid effectiveness-implementation and stepped wedge trials. This work will be applied to research on implementation strategies of long-acting injectable PrEP (LA-PrEP) for HIV prevention. By providing clear methodological guidance, his postdoctoral work will improve how new health interventions are studied in clinical trials and help speed up their eventual rollout to the wider population.
